It's a long and tired one, dating back centuries ago. Already, Kanitells were known for dark arts, betrayal, a family curse that was spread across generations upon generations. That each Kanitell must lose the one thing they hold dear to them. Her grandfather went nuts when he lost his brother in the war, killing both sides and eventually dying there on the battlefield. Her father lost her mother in a car accident, and lost himself to alcohol and physical abuse of his children. She was left to wander the streets when her a-hole brother decided he wanted nothing more to do with the family and left. Of course, that's where Renn's life really picked up. She was stealing groceries when she ended up fighting for her life and food with three other guys. Being bitten, spat on and otherwise, ripped to shreds, the four stopped in their combat to find the groceries had been eaten by an alley dog. And thus, Renn came to love Regulus, Belle and Darry. Their little gang grew, welcoming kids from broken homes, sheltered lives. Renn escaped the gang-life every thursday to the library computer and into the digital world. However, much before the shut-down of it, Renn started to have problems. Quickly. It was the anniversary of her mother's death, and she went to pay her dues at the family plot. Walking home, she was nearly hit by a car when a passer-by knocked her out of the way. It was Darry, who took the full force of the car. It was a rush, a rush to get him to the hospital, a rush to save him. Of course, whatever mighty being there was, wasn't about to let Renn have a bad day. No, the celestial being was going to make it craptastic. Guess who got home and discovered her home, her group had disappeared? Guess who was discovered at the scene of a supposed drug dealing (framed)? Guess who had to run from the cops and foster homes? This chick. She did a lot of running, eventually finding Regulus once more in another state. By then, she had grown up significantly, more rough around the edges, a little more scarred and haunted. They snuck back home, where nostalgia paid it's dues. So it made sense for Renn, deep in her heart, to visit the library, to visit the computer where she had good times. When the celestial being of torment and down-right douchebaggery decided to strike and send her into the digi-world. Of course, she could probably smile and nod then maybe tattle-tale on her superiors, however that seemed like a low blow. She could handle the asshole on her as she had handled many others with similiar personalities before. Ah, but he was such a prententious little asshole. So smug, so confident. Renn had hoped to wipe that off his face with Thirteen and Seven, but only managed to give him more pride, beating hers to a bloody pulp. Ignore the goddamned hand. Glaring at Renn merely lifted her lips in a half-hearted snarl. He had better be thankful she didn't rip it off. And then shit got personal. Again, it was like someone had punched her in the guts. She closed her eyes, scrunched her eyebrows. No, wouldn't give him the satisfaction. She wouldn't reply to that, it was a draw, it was a trap. danger will robinson danger! And then, it was clear. She had a plan. A simple battle plan. Yes, it took nearly took Thirteen's life and her pride, but by god, she got it. It was simple really. It was like an equation drawn out in her head, one that she had pondered over, spat on, thought over, mulled over until finally the answer was right under her nose. Wimpy? However, that was the last straw. Like a bullet shot of a gun, Renn shortened the distance between the two with two long strides and like a whip was being cracked, she pulled back her fist and launched into his gut. That gave her satisfaction but not enough. No, the fist that had pulled back from his pillowy stomach was being replaced by another which aimed for his face and hit the bullseye, his nose. A satisfying sound of bone crushing bone. ''Next time we meet, better get your head of your ass boss. You may have won the battle, but us Kanitells? We always win the war. She hissed before spitting what remained of saliva and blood in her mouth, aiming for the stupid dog by his side. Satisifed with the impression she had left, she turned on her heel and left, letting her pride ease back into her limbs and what could be a skip in her step.
